Giving birth at home safely

One of the choices women have during pregnancy is how they will deliver. What I meant with how they deliver is whether they deliver a baby in the hospital or at their own homes. Most women don’t realize they have that choice mainly because they don’t realize that homebirths are safe.But of course there are those who doubt the safety of this method.But if they just research and look for studies about this method then they will realize that there a lot of evidence that this method is safe.

Now the safety of a homebirth has been questioned.  From my observations from my practice as a San Diego midwife I have found it to be absolutely safe. I have witnessed 300 homebirths and I can say that the dangers are just the same either you deliver a baby at home or at the hospital.The risks is not minimized whether you give birth at a hospital or at your homes.On the ohter hand, the risks also would not increase because of this.

So what would be the main threat of undergoing a procedure like this?  Well for one people worry if some complications occur.They think that people who assist in homebirths are not nurses.  Well as a homebirth midwife in San Diego we do know medical procedures.  We carry the necessary medical equipment for all the common complications.It is but natural that any serious complications that would arise during birthing should be addressed by a doctor.But that is still similar to what happens in a hospital. 

Homebirths are only recommended for women who have pregnancies that are low in risk.A good midwife would not recommend this method if some complications are found in a woman.  This is standard procedure for all San Diego licensed midwife.This is standard procedure because they are limited in the medical procedures that they can do.That the reason why they make sure that all high risk pregnancies be delivered in a hospital.

For those who do not like this method it will be very hard to convince them to do so.But for the women who likes to try this method then they should know that this method is safe if not as safe as a delivery in the hospital.
