The first thing you need to be able to know is the age of the roof.If your home you have owned it since it’s beginning that answer is easy to come up with. If you bought it used it is not so easy to try and figure it out.But there are some things you can do to figure out it’s age. Generally I tell all my clients of my San Diego roofing company if there roof is over 20 years old it needs to be replaced. That isn’t a rule set in stone but it is a good rule to go by.
Next thing to look for is are there any leaks throughout the home. As your roof ages and gets older there will start to be more and more leaks. If you do start seeing a lot of leaks in various parts of your roof it is a good sign it needs to be replaced. Finally for the people who have shingled roofs, if you see that you have curled shingles that is a clue that is probably needs to be replaced.At minimum what you will need is a professional roof repair company to take a look and inspect.
