One of the most expensive parts of the car to be repaired is the transmission. Most of the cars that are sold nowadays are built well.But it will be damaged eventually and it can be very expensive to fix.So you should always see to it that you regularly maintain your transmission. So let us now look into some signs of a transmission problem.
First sign of problems with a transmission is the fluid.With a dipstick you can check if there are signs of a leak in your fluid levels. If you notice that the fluid level is always low then that might be a sign of a leak.If the fluid has a burnt smell or is dark in color then that is a sure sign of problems. So to make sure your car doesn’t suffer any severe transmission damage always check your fluids. If you notice any of thesse signs you must immediately go into an auto repair shop. Another sign of problems for your car’s transmission is when you shift it into drive and there is a delay. If you shift it and it does not get into gear immediately then that’s a sign of a problem. That problem is called as the delay of engagement. This is a sign of a worn out transmission problem but there can be other causes. I have all my clients take it into my Escondido auto repair shop anytime they get the delayed engagement problem.
Last sign of problem that I know of is when you shift the gears and it is jerky then that would be another sign of problems to come. All shifting should be smooth with no slipping. This is the sign of a worn transmission if your car jerks everytime it shifts gear. I catch a lot of problems early in my Oceanside transmission repair shop when this happens. By catching it early a customer can save a lot of money in repairs.
